The 1929 Chevrolet Pumper was the first motorized truck that Osceola had.  It has 2000 original miles on it but the truck engine has froze up on it.  Member Mike Simonsen has been working on the truck and with help of members on the January monthly meeting the engine was pulled out of the truck.  Since then Mike has got the motor tore apart and the block is on its way to Hastings to get inspected.  Soon the truck should be ready to go again in parades on other special events for the fire department.
Not the way we like to see the 29 but help is on the way.
Another view.  Hopefully the next pictures will be of her running.
Update
After the block was inspected it was determined that parts where going to run around $5,000 for the repairs.  It was decided by the department not to pursue the repairs.
A couple of months later a 1929 engine was located on ebay and was bid on.  Much to the departments disappointment we were out bid in the last minute.  Two weeks later the seller contacted the department and said the first bidder backed out.
Mike and Elaine Simonsen set out for the 3 1/2 day 2500 round trip venture and returned with the motor.  Much to Mike's surprise the engine even fired when he picked it up.
Special thanks goes out to Mike and Elaine for making the trip, and to Mike for all the work he has been doing to the truck.
Keep in touch with this page on the work that is continuing on the truck.
