The Osceola Volunteer Fire Department and Osceola Rescue Squad responded to a structure fire @ the Eric and Heather Lindsley's residence on April 12, 2006.Eric returned home in the early afternoon to find the house filled with smoke. The department entered the house to find Eric and Heathers son Grants room gutted by the blaze. It was determined by the State Fire Marshals Office that a faulty radiant heater shorted out and caused the blaze. Luckily nobody was home @ the time and the fire damage was contained to one end of the house with smoke damage to the rest and no water damage from the fire suppression. To the fire crews amazement the smoke detector in the hall outside of Grants room was badly melted but going off. This proves that smoke detectors really can save lives.
