Goodell House Burn
11/5/2006
The Osceola Fire Department
held a live fire practice burn on November 5, 2006 @ a structure that was damage by fire in 2005.  The house had a decent basement in it so the department was able to practice basement fire attacks  which the majority of the time is not  possible because of the conditions of older houses.  Interior attacks was also held on the main floor of the house.  Two members of the Columbus Fire Department also trained with the O.V.F.D..  Thank you to Lisa Goodell for the use of the structure. Pictures taken by Tom Schelif of the O.V.F.D.
A picture of the inside during training.  Old pallets are burned to practice water application.  To much water turns the room dark and hot. Notice the smoke layer above the firefighters.
Notice the window to the left, firefighters on the inside are using a power vent method to remove smoke from the house.  The hose stream is shot through the window pulling the smoke out of the structure.
The house is now burned to the ground when all inteior training is complete.
