1967 Ford Tanker Rebuild

The tank on the 1967 Ford was in bad shape and leaking. With only 6700 miles showing on the odometer and the truck in excellent shape it was decided by the members to rebuilt the tank and repaint the truck.  The truck has excellent gearing for larger grass fires and you don't have to worry about scratching a brand new truck as this one gets into a lot of stubble fires and grass fires.  The tank was built by a local company out of Clarks, Ne. A couple of fire department members at the time were employees at Grain Products in Stromsburg ,Ne.  Doug and Wanda Peterson owners of Grain Products allowed the department members employed there the use of their metal working shop to construct the new storage compartments.
After the tank and compartments were in place Dave Scott of Osceola donated his services to sand blast the bare metal.  The truck was then primed and painted by department member Rick Rieck and the new decals added.  Many members of the department spent countless hours on this project that was done in only a span of two weeks so the truck could be put back into service.  The Osceola Fire Department would like to thank Doug and Wanda along with Dave Scott for their help on this project.  As you see your donation dollars are  well spent.
