The Osceola Volunteer Fire Department and Osceola Rescue Squad responded to a call of a combine on fire on October 7, 2006. Wayne Beatty the owner of the combine was doing some custom harvesting of soy beans when the machine caught fire. The fire was located at the west boundary of our fire district. The combine is considered a total loss. A hot belt or bearing catching the bean chafe on fire was the cause.
